“We’ve Met with the Surgeon”
Update on Karen for Thursday October 13th, 2016
I know many people have been praying and awaiting my post.
We are home from the surgeon’s consultation and I want to thank you for praying. The surgeon is proceeding with plans to remove Karen’s gallbladder next Wednesday October 19th. PLEASE BE SURE TO KEEP READING AND PRAYING: He is proceeding with plans for the surgery. But this is pending his conversation with her oncologist. I honestly do believe that the oncologist is pleased with this plan and will give his go ahead.
It was her oncologist that started us on the four month journey to discovering what was causing the nausea and pain. He, as well as many of us, was concerned that the cancer had spread. With great relief he read the MRI report and all of Karen’s medical personnel were very happy to find no new cancer. The oncologist then recommended that Karen return to our PCP to order an endoscope and HIDA scan for the gallbladder. Our oncologist told me personally in his return email that he is fully onboard with surgical consult.
So here’s the plan. Next Tuesday morning we meet with the surgeon again in his office. He will give us his final decision. There is still a chance that he will refuse to do the surgery. But at this point it doesn’t look like it. I do believe that we are a go for surgery next Wednesday.
Thank you for being such a part of this difficult journey with us. Karen was a little better yesterday afternoon and evening. I actually stayed for prayer time after preaching at prayer meeting last night. Then as we got ready for bed she started worsening. It was a horrible night for her and she has been extremely sick today. Thank you for praying for her. She was able to eat a little lunch. We’ve just got to get that gallbladder gone.
