Volume 1 Number 26 “Can’t You Just Hear Karen Saying This?” October 3, 2018
Last week I shared several brief sentences that Karen wrote in her Bible study journal. In what would typically take me a hundred words or so typically took Karen less than half that amount. I have a brief statement she wrote as she underlined and considered Romans 12:1-2. Let me share these verses then her couple of sentences.
“I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable serve. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
Karen wrote: “Who we are and the way we act comes from within. It has to do with Romans 12:1-2 and the transformation that God wants to take place in our minds. A spiritual makeover from the inside out will affect our words and our actions.”
Michael’s observation: You know that the Lord brought many children into the home of Michael, Karen and Jeremy. We had the privilege of adopting many of the children. Others were never eligible for adoption. Needless to say, words and actions were important to Karen as she looked to the ways of her household. Our rules were not harsh nor were they many. We knew that every home needs some basic rules. But the real change would come through a makeover from the inside out! Can’t you just hear Karen saying these things to her many children? I can! It’s good for all of us to consider.
