“I thank God, Whom I serve from my forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have remembrance of thee in my prayers night and day; greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of thy tears, that I may be filled with joy” (2 Timothy 1:3-4).
Paul was focused, determined, hard-working, constantly serving and ready to speak boldly and courageously for the Lord. What a testimony. But there was more to Paul than this. There was a tenderness, a compassion and a love for people. Paul literally told Timothy that he thought of him night and day and prayed so often for him. He greatly desired to see him again, remembering Timothy’s tears the last time they were together. It’s really hard to miss someone. There is a loneliness and longing to see that person. Paul understood this. Let me encourage you. If that someone you miss so much is still alive, take a moment to contact them. Tell them how much you care and miss them. Be a blessing to them as Paul was to Timothy.
For today: How will this expression from Paul to Timothy bless and encourage your life?
