Volume 2 Number 22 “The 80/20 Principle for Life”
May 29th, 2019
Thank you for making Karen’s Notes a part of your weekly reading. It is a privilege to bring to you a few of the notes Karen has written in her Bible study journals. Her entry today takes us back seven years in her entry. I am not sure for what she was preparing. It may have been a one-on-one time with an individual lady. It might have been for an upcoming speaking engagement. But whatever it was, it serves as a good reminder. Let me share the verses and then her notes.
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments, and His ways past finding out! For who hath known the mind of the Lord? Or who hath been His counselor?” (Romans 11:33-34).
Karen was writing about trusting the Lord in the events of our lives.
Karen wrote: In life there seems to be an 80/20 principle. It seems like the situations with which I have little or no control account for 20% of my life. On the other hand my response or reaction accounts for 80% of my life. I must remember His sovereignty (Romans 11:33-34). He is my stronghold (Nahum 1:7). He is my strength (Psalm 27:14).
Michael’s observation: I find great comfort and blessing as I remember “My times are in Your hand” (Psalm 31:15). May our Lord’s sovereignty be a rich blessing in your life today.
