Volume 2 Number 45 “I Wonder What She Was Preparing?” Part Three
November 6th, 2019
Here’s what I shared the last two weeks. I have no idea what the event was for which she was studying. In fact, I almost didn’t open it. But I’m glad that I did. In one of her notebooks, I discovered a folded sheet of yellow lined paper. There was lots of “doodling” with a few thoughts and some scratching on it. This was a rough draft of something she was preparing. But I think I’ve discovered enough of her train of thought to share with you for the next couple of Wednesdays.
Here is the text she was beginning to study through. “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in Him; and He shall bring it to pass” (Psalm 37:3-5).
The first attitude had to do with “Trusting.” The second attitude had to do with “Delighting.” Now today, let me share with you attitude # 3: “Committing.” Remember, these thoughts come from a very rough draft with incomplete sentences. Let me just share what she was thinking.
Karen wrote: “Commit” v. 5 (Entrust). Bring it to pass. “Roll thy way” I can honestly bring my problems to Him. Believe God. He will answer my problems.
Michael’s Observation: I never knew which lady she was speaking with at the time. However, I often walked into our room and Karen was on the phone. She’d look up and wave and wink at me (flirting with the preacher again!) and then as I quickly would leave, I’d hear her say, “You don’t have to bear this alone. You have One to Whom you really can commit this. You don’t have to carry it. It is far too heavy.” She often spoke of Psalm 37:5 because it was such a blessing in her life. It’s a blessing in mine and yours as well, isn’t it?
