“Thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee, thou shalt speak” (Jeremiah 1:7).
Jeremiah has just explained to the Lord that he could not possibly go and serve Him. He was trying to be excused because he is too young (1:6); God replies that this is not going to work. In fact, He tells His young prophet, “You will go, Jeremiah, you will speak, and you will not be afraid of their faces” (1:7-8). Jeremiah needed to learn the truth that he didn’t have to be a fantastic speaker. He simply had to be faithful. The Lord would give him the words and the power to speak. In fact, come to think of it, these are the exact same things He tells us to do as well.
For today: Live Godly and speak graciously. God is going to use you!
