Volume 3 Number 47 “I Can’t Imagine How You Must Have Felt, Mary and Joseph!”

While Karen was still living, she gave me permission to write about her situation as well as share what was upon her heart. So yes, I did obtain her permission to be sharing these “Karen’s Notes” with you. I also know her well enough to know what she would rather I not share, and I never will. But I have to tell you, as I read again the many conference notes she prepared in her days of health and public speaking, one of the reoccurring themes seem to be “Trust the Lord in the good days, so that when the hard days come, you will have the matter settled as to trusting Him.”
At this time of the year, she often spoke of Mary and how she accepted the angel’s announcement. “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word” (Luke 1:38). We often spoke also of Joseph and how he did what the angel said in spite of what his family and friends would surely think. “Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: and knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called His name Jesus” (Matthew 1:24-25). She was challenged to fully trust the Lord in the good times so that when a hard situation would occur, she would still trust Him. This trusting is a right understanding of the following things she wrote.
Karen wrote:
1. God is in control. “…The Most High ruleth in the kingdom of men” (Daniel 4:32).
2. God does all things right. “As for God, His way is perfect…” (Psalm 18:30).
3. God can do with my life as He chooses because I belong to Him. “What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (1 Corinthians 6:19, 20).
Michael’s observation: I am blessed and challenged indeed by the testimony of Joseph and Mary. I am blessed to have watched the above three things being lived out in the life of my Karen. I am challenged to make sure that these three convictions are true in my life. How about you?
