I’ve enjoyed having a bird feeder right outside one of my windows. Every day I take out a large scoop of bird feed, and as I whistle walking away from the feeder, in come the sparrows! Think of it! They don’t worry and fret that I will forget them. They don’t stay up all night wringing their wings trying to think of an alternative for their food just in case. They simply come and eat. The Lord Jesus said, “Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into their barns; yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?” (Matthew 6:26). This doesn’t mean that you can quit your job and wait for the Lord’s provision. However, you can rest in the fact that you are of far greater value than the birds!
