A mommy along with her young son picked up several items at the store. When the busy cashier accidently gave her too much change, a tremendous teaching moment occurred. She was honest with the clerk, gave a brief testimony, and headed for the car.

After buckling her little boy in, she started the car. Turning back to him, she captured the Deuteronomy 6:7 moment. There the Bible says, “And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children.” Quietly she said, “When we do the right things, it makes the Lord Jesus happy. That is why mommy told the clerk the truth. We like to make Jesus happy, don’t we?”

Her statement took only a few seconds to make. Seizing the teachable moment may last a lifetime. What teachable moments will come your way this week?
