January 1st, 2016 Important Update on Karen
Many of our friends amaze us because they record Karen’s chemotherapy infusions on their calendars. Typically we would be in the infusion center this morning after seeing the oncologist and clinical research nurse. Some of you may be wondering if today was a regular infusion day. Others may be wondering how long Karen’s treatments will continue. As long as Karen can tolerate these infusions, she will undergo this every twenty-one days. However, since this is a holiday our doctor has given her a week off.
To be honest with you, we are very happy to have the week off. Foods taste better to my sweetheart. She is feeling better and has more energy than usual. Frankly I have am having my hands full just trying to keep up with her.
Please, please, please be praying about the CT scan on Tuesday January 5th. We really do trust the Lord. But it is a strange thing to approach another CT scan. What will it show the mass doing? Will it show the mass is gone? That would be wonderful. So thank you for praying about the upcoming scan. Here is another thing about which we would request prayer. On Thursday she has labs and on Friday she will have her infusion. Karen has a different health insurance policy now that I am on Medicare! The first few appointments on the new insurance policy sometimes have the potential of being a little challenging. We know she has health insurance. But we do not have her new insurance card yet. Please be praying that this comes soon. Thank you for praying.
What an encouragement. Karen and I are watching the Rose Parade as I write this post. A beautiful float came into view carrying a beautiful lady who was just announced as a Stage IV cancer survivor. The crowd roared as they celebrated the joy this lady demonstrated. From my chair in the family room I cheered. I think I scared Karen’s little dogs; but it was a cheer from my heart. I want God’s will for my sweetheart. But if He were to make her a Stage IV cancer survivor it would be a huge blessing to my family and me.
I know that the life of my Karen as well as the life of each person who reads this is in the awesome hands of our great God. There is such great comfort and strength in knowing this. If you have a moment please check out my Daily Prescription for today at www.michaelpeck.org. I really do believe this.
Thank you for praying. We truly appreciate you.
