An Urgent Update on My Karen
“Our Times Truly Are In His Amazing Hands.”
February 7th, 2017
King David wrote, “I trusted in Thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in Thy hand. Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart, all ye that hope in the LORD” (Psalm 31: 14-15, 24).
I don’t know how people who don’t know and trust the Lord make it through the hard times of life. What emptiness there must be. What terror and fear when their loved one becomes seriously ill. I am so glad that we do not live by “luck.” I rejoice along with King David and agree that He is our God. Our times are in His hands and what wonderful strength He gives His people.
Our times! My Karen and I are in another stretch of the cancer journey. Thank you so much for coming with us on the journey. We so appreciate your friendship and prayers. As many of you know, Karen was able to get back to our church on Sunday. She and I were so thrilled. The congregational singing was great. The choir was amazing. Our pastor had just the message we needed to hear. What a great morning service. We also knew over the weekend that she was beginning to fill with the cancerous fluid again. On Monday I called the specialist’s office to get things moving toward her being drained this week. Then suddenly around lunch time she felt like she filled significantly with fluid. I measured her and sure enough. She gained significantly from the measuring of this morning.
I was in touch with the specialist’s office once again and they have expedited Karen’s appointment to get her into the hospital tomorrow (Wednesday) at 11:30. May I ask our friends to pray with us that the Lord would guide the procedure? May I ask you to pray that the fluid would stop building up? Would you pray that Karen and I would be gracious and trusting in whatever the Lord has planned for us? That’s a lot to pray about. But thank you for allowing me to share with you.
I will post again tomorrow afternoon when we get home from the hospital to let you know how Karen did and what the results are. Thanks again.
