“Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. The LORD is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens. Who is like unto the LORD our God, Who dwelleth on high” (Psalm 113:1-2; 4-5).
There is something that I absolutely hate. Does this surprise you? I do not care for lamb or liver, but I don’t hate them. I do not care for the snow and cold, but I don’t hate them. Let me share with you what I absolutely hate. I hate to hear people refer to the Lord as being “the man upstairs.” I know that I am preaching to the choir, but doesn’t that just strike a note that is objectionable to you? Our awesome LORD is great. He is high above the nations, and His glory is over the heavens. This gives me confidence in His ability to care for me. This causes me to reverence and respect Him. This causes joy to break out in my heart because this great God is also gracious. I am blessed because of Who He is and what He is doing. I am so glad that I belong to Him and that He loves me. How about you?
For today: What a wonderful Savior! He is high above the heavens, and yet He loves His people and knows them. What a wonderful blessing for us to think about today.
