Paul, the precious Apostle, was in the final days of his life. Chained in a Roman prison, he was living in the worst of conditions. Despite all of this, he had a genuine confidence and faith in the Lord. Listen to his proclamation. Regardless of the conditions and circumstances in our lives just now, we too, can have this confidence and joy if we know the Lord. Here’s what Paul proclaimed.
“For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless, I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day” (2 Timothy 1:12).
He had the right perspective.
He loved the Lord Jesus.
He was confident in Him.
He was contented and calm knowing that eternity with the Lord was just ahead.
What a great way for Christ followers to live. Oh, and by the way, that chorus based on this Scripture is great for us to be singing today, isn’t it?
