“Teach me Thy way, O LORD; I will walk in Thy truth” (Psalm 86:11).
Kate appeared to be a very typical girl. She loved to do the things that typical little girls love to do. But there was something different about her. There was something that set her apart from the other girls in her neighborhood. She had a very tender heart for the Lord Jesus. Early in her life she had placed her trust in Him for salvation. It would seem from that day on that Kate desired to really follow the Lord. Though she certainly did not live a perfect life, her tenderness toward the Lord and His ways continued right through high school and into adulthood. Life was not easy for her; however, she trusted the Lord and served Him faithfully. Often she would pray, “Lord I am a simple person. Please teach me Your way and give me the strength to walk in it. I don’t want to walk in my own way. Help me to walk in Your way, Lord.” Come to think of it, this is a wonderful prayer for all of us. The Lord’s way does not come automatically. That is why King David asked the Lord to “teach him” God’s way. That is exactly what you and I must do as well.
For today: There is no improvement on God’s way. You and I will be wise if we choose it.
