“And Ahab the son of Omri did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him. And Ahab made a grove: and Ahab did more to provoke the LORD God of Israel to anger than all the kings of Israel that were before him” (1 Kings 16:30, 33).
Everyone will be known for something. You have read the life story of people shared in their obituaries. Of some it is said that they loved camping. Others devoted themselves to travel. Still others loved animals. Some will be remembered for their sense of humor while others will be remembered for loving their nieces and nephews. Some will be remembered for their community service and others for their achievements. Each of us will be known for something that characterized our lives. King Ahab is remembered as being the most wicked king so far and the one who provoked the Lord more than any previous king! What a terrible thing for which to be remembered. Stop and think about it for a moment today. How will you be remembered? Will you have a testimony of a wasted life or a life that honored the Lord?
For today: I am challenged by my own question. How about you?
