My waste basket is nearly full even though it was emptied two days ago. It’s full of junk mail. You have the same thing happen to you, don’t you?

We didn’t ask for this mail.
We didn’t solicit the product advertised.
We didn’t ask to be put on the list.
We didn’t need most of the mail that comes to us.

We call it “junk mail.” How different is God’s Word.

It always is just exactly what we need.
“So shall my Word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it” (Isaiah 55:11).

It is always lifechanging.
“For the Word of God is quick {alive, active, powerful, fresh} and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12a).

It is food for our soul.
“Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God” (Matthew 4:4).

Trust me. It is just what you need. Pick it up. Ask the Lord to bless your reading. If you don’t know where to start, try John chapter one. Read it slowly, thoughtfully, and carefully. I promise, it is just what you and I need today.
