“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).

He was laughed at among his peers. Ken worked in an environment that was filled with foul-mouthed men and women. He had accepted the job offer because he really sensed the Lord wanted him to fill this position. After a few days on the job, he began to wonder what in the world he had gotten into. The language among his co-workers when no customers were around was horrible, really horrible. He said to the Lord one day, “Lord, You know I’ve asked my co-workers to watch their inappropriate jokes. They just laugh at me and call me ‘Mr. Sunday School.’ I’m not sure if I made the wrong choice by accepting this position. It just seemed to me to be the right decision. I commit this work situation and the language to you, Lord.”

About twenty minutes later an accident took place in the workplace. Ken was pinned beneath a heavy container. Co-workers rushed to his aid and an ambulance was summoned. Ken’s pain was severe. They were at his side when they heard him pray an incredible prayer of gratitude and thanksgiving that the Lord spared his co-workers. He thanked the Lord for His goodness even in this situation. By then the EMS had arrived and took Ken to the Emergency Room. The co-workers were stunned and could not get over Ken’s words. One of them remarked, “If it had been me, I would’ve been swearing up a storm.” Still another said quietly, “Ken didn’t ‘cause he has a different heart.” A few weeks later Ken was back, and I will tell you, what a strong testimony and impression it made on the workforce. Ken would have a great opportunity to minister to his co-workers.

For today: Hopefully nothing as dramatic will take place in your life. However, how do you suppose the words of your mouth and the meditation of your heart will work out in your life today?
