“And their words seemed to them as idle tales, and they believed them not” (Luke 24:11).
The women ran from the garden tomb to tell the disciples the great news that came from the angels that Christ was risen. The disciples listened to the women, but they didn’t believe it. Many of us have wondered at the disbelief of the early disciples. “Didn’t Jesus clearly tell them that He would rise again?” we declare! But before we get too judgmental about their disbelief, we will be well advised to daily check our own hearts to be alert for the possibility of disbelief and doubt. It can strike at any time. More about this tomorrow.
For today: May I have the grace, strength, and help from the Lord to believe all that the Lord tells me. May you as well!
