“And they shall see His face; and His name shall be in their foreheads. And there shall be no night there; and they have no need of candle, and neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever” (Revelation 22:4-5).
Among some of the best-selling books today are those that are written about Heaven. Unfortunately some of these books directly contradict what the Bible teaches about the place that the writer claims to have visited. It is almost a guarantee that anyone who has a near-death experience who writes about floating on a cloud will sell a million copies. Some of the books portray the returning deceased person as playing games with Jesus, seeing people who are sending messages back to earth, or meeting people that were never interested in spiritual things on earth now suddenly appearing to be very happy and in great bliss. Anything that contradicts Scripture is not to be trusted. The verses that you read today tell us the truth about Heaven. It will be glorious, fulfilling, and spectacular in every detail. I think the very best thing about Heaven is that we will see the Lord face-to-face. John never got over this and reminded us of this in his epistle, “Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is. And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure” (1 John 3:2-3). Don’t place your confidence in anything that contradicts the Bible, no matter how convincing the writers try to make it! When you know the truth (God’s Word) you will accept no cheap substitutes.
For today: Maybe today will be the day I will see His face. That surely changes the way I will live in this world! How about you?
