Pecks’ Bushels of Blessings
August 2014
Dear Prayer Partners,
Karen and I want to say “Thank you” so very much. We cannot begin to tell you how often we have sensed your prayers as we walk through changing seasons of ministry. Recently I (Michael) was writing upcoming Daily Prescriptions for our website. I once again came across Psalm 96. Here we are commanded to sing unto the Lord (vs. 1); show His salvation from day to day (vs. 2); and declare His glory among the heathen and His wonders among all people (vs. 3). Why must we do this? The answer rings clearly because, “The LORD is great, and greatly to be praised” (vs. 4). What an awesome God you and I are privileged to serve. Hence we are to be singing, showing, and declaring who the Lord is and what He is doing.
Karen’s Ministry with JOY Club is in a changing season. Nearly from the time that Karen accepted the position of JOY Club Director, she began to pray for the person who would come and take up the ministry full time. God has answered that prayer. Chip Wood and his family will move to Elyria around August 1st. His wife Karen will be working in the office and will split her time with JOY Club and techPartner which is our technology ministry. During the month of August, Karen will be working with Chip and Karen as they begin their new ministry. Around the 1st of September, she will be available as volunteer wherever needed in the Baptist Church Planters ministry and will be active in our local church. She also has several projects awaiting her at home.
Michael’s ministry (NO I am not one of her projects at home!) continues as I have the privilege of partnering with our BCP missionaries. I have the joy of being available to assist in their counseling situations as well as providing resources for our missionary family, pastors, churches, and families throughout the world. I never dreamed that technology would open the door to ministry truly in a world-wide sense. It is my privilege to represent our prayer and financial partners far beyond the borders of our country.
Here is a brief snapshot of our ministry.
- Pulpit Supply at Abbe Road is completed as they have now called Cal Searles as their pastor.
- I will become available once again after Sept. 1st for limited pulpit ministry and family conferences.
- August 23rd– Teaching in the Candidate School for BCP.
- August 24th, Speaking at the Fellowship Baptist Church of Lorain in the AM and PM services.
- August 26th in the morning, Michael will be teaching once again in the Candidate School. In the evening, I will be one of the speakers during the time of honoring David and Kathy Little as they retire from the ministry of BCP.
- The filming of the counseling series has been moved to September 29th and 30th. Preparation for this filming is well underway.
- The manuscript for “Growing—Staying Best Friends When the Honeymoon’s Over” is progressing well. Please continue to pray for this major undertaking.
- The website www.michaelpeck.org is nearing 8,000 different people coming for resources and help. Later this fall a major advertising endeavor will take place and much more added to the website.
Karen and I want to thank you sincerely for your faithful partnership. We count it a privilege to represent you on a full time basis with Baptist Church Planters. We are doing well thanks to our ever faithful Lord and Savior. We are blessed beyond measure with the best prayer and financial partners a missionary could ever have. We send our love and appreciation to each of you.
Michael and Karen Peck
