“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in Thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer” (Psalm 19:14).
Two dads were talking about a new family in the neighborhood. “Listen, Charlie, I work around dirty-mouthed people all the time. But these new neighbors. All four of them need to have their mouths washed out with soap!” Jim said. Charlie thought for just a moment and responded, “You’re right. They do. But I can’t help but remember that their real problem is not their words, it’s their hearts. In fact, Jim, their hearts are the root cause of their dirty mouths. It’s important that my words and my heart are acceptable to the Lord. Only He can change both,” Charlie concluded.
For today: It was good for us to listen in to the conversation of Charlie and Jim. May the words that come out of our mouths be the result of a clean heart before the Lord.
