“The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable, But the mouth of the wicked what is perverse” (Proverbs 10:32) NKJV
There should be a great difference between the speech of the believer who is walking with the Lord and growing in the grace of Christ compared to the lips of the unsaved who do not know the Lord. I say, “There should be a great difference.” Mike sought to live for Christ among the rest of his high school students. Most everyone knew he was a Christian because of the testimony of his life and lips. One unsaved student confessed, “We’ve tried everything to get you to swear. But nothing has worked. Your Christ must be very real to you.” It was a great opportunity for Mike to share with Vance how he, too, could know Christ.
For today: Acceptable communication is Christ-honoring in the choice of words as well as the tone of voice. How will your words impact others today?
