“Show me Thy ways, O LORD: teach me Thy paths. Lead me in Thy truth, and teach me: for Thou art the God of my salvation; on Thee do I wait all the day” (Psalm 25:4-5).
Dr. Carlson knew that the time had come to retire from his very busy counseling practice. The years of counseling and the growing arthritis combined to age the well-known counselor. He had very little doubt that the Lord was directing him to retire. The nagging question he frequently asked his wife was, “What will I do in retirement?” That precious Sunday his pastor preached from Psalm 25 and it was such a blessing to the elderly counselor. “Doc” wrote a note to his wife on the worship bulletin, “I’m going to announce that the practice will close in three months. The Lord will teach me His truth on His paths. I’m going to serve in new ways!” How about you? Are you on the path God wants you to be on? Are you watching for Him to teach you about His plan?
For today: You can trust the plan God has for you. While you might not fully understand everything He is doing right now, the time is coming when everything will be easy to understand.
