I love this stage of my life. Oh, please believe me, being my age is not for cowards! There are challenges, new aches and pains, sometimes a major health situation that develops quickly, and of course, there are adjustments galore. But! I still love this stage and age of my life.

If I had a gigantic microphone that could speak to every Christian throughout the world and share just one thing with them, here’s what it would be:

“Enter not into the path of the wicked, and go not in the way of evil men. Avoid it, pass not by it, turn from it, and pass away” (Proverbs 4:14-15).

Steve Ferrar wrote, “Sin takes you farther than you want to go, keeps you longer than you want to stay, and costs you more than you want to pay.”

So, from my gigantic microphone I would say to all of us, we need to take sin seriously. Guard our hearts. Stay in the Word of God. Be intentional in our prayer life. Surround ourselves with safeguards and keep close to the Lord. People may laugh at you and ridicule your stand for the Lord Jesus. May the Lord give us strength and grace to be Proverbs 4:14-15 kind of people.

You are on your way. You have lots to do today so I won’t hold you up. But regardless of our age, may the Lord help each of us not to flirt with sin but forsake it.
