“But Jesus called them unto Him, and said, Ye know that the princes of the Gentiles exercise dominion over them, and they that are great exercise authority upon them. But it shall not be so among you: but whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister; And whosoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant: Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give His life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:25-28).
Evan was hired by a well-known company which had multiple campuses in several states. Strategically he was hired as the project manager in a large department that had been torn apart due to poor leadership and many of the employees having poor direction. In-fighting and undermining one another seemed to be the characteristic of this department. Over 200 employees were assembled on his first day so that they could meet their new boss. There was tension in the air, but Evan soon dispelled it. He began by sharing with them a little about himself, his family and his style of leadership. “I am here to do everything that I can to provide the tools for you to be successful and hopefully even to make it so that you will find moments of enjoyment in your work.” Evan loved the Lord and believed the principle of Matthew 20:25-28. He had learned the secret of being a servant-leader.
For today: How will this affect your life today?
