“But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ…” (Galatians 6:14).

From a human perspective the Apostle Paul had much for which he could boast. His Roman citizenship, his standing as former Pharisee and Hebrew of the Hebrews were important things to him. On top of that, the Lord was using him in an incredible way! Yet Paul declared that the only boasting point in his life was the cross. The perfect Son of God fully paid the horrible price for our sins on that cross.
For today: Help your family to remember the cross. In their busy schedules, take time to remember each day the great price that was paid by the One who owed no debt!

“Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.”

Some burdens are so heavy and crushing, others must help carry them. Do you know of someone whose load is overwhelming and their burden is crushing? What can you do to help them? It may be practical, financial or encouraging. Don’t assume everyone else will help. What can you do?
For today: Understand that it is not possible to help everyone. However, you can help someone around you! You will be so glad you did.

“Come after me, and I will make you to become fishers of men. And straightway they forsook their nets, and followed Him” (Mark 1:17-18).

The last thing in all the world that Galilean fishermen would ever do would be to leave their nets and walk away from the fishing business. But when the Lord Jesus calls us to follow, He must not be resisted. Most folks will not be asked to leave their business. But some will however. What about you? If the Lord should lead you into vocational ministry, would you “leave your nets to follow Him?”
For today: If you know the Lord as your Savior, He tells you, “Come after me.” Let Him be your guide. Are you following today?

“All power is given unto Me in Heaven and in earth” (Matthew 28:18).

The word “power” in this text is exousia and means “authority.” Stand amazed at the absolute authority the Lord Jesus Christ has been given. At His name every knee shall bow (Philippians 2:10). His authority is incredible.

For today: While we obey the laws of the land, it is so exciting to know that we live by a Higher authority. Do you know the awesome Lord Jesus Christ, possessor of all authority?

“O satisfy us early with Thy mercy; that we may rejoice and be glad all our days” (Psalm 90:14).

Why is it that some people are so hard to satisfy? No matter how hard loved ones try, some folks just are never satisfied. What does it take to satisfy you? Moses was satisfied with the mercy of God. He didn’t want what he deserved. He wanted God’s mercy.

For today: Rejoice that God holds back what you really do deserve. That is His mercy! Be satisfied with His great mercy today.
