“But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8).

God’s love is not just spoken to us, it is shown to us. Genuine love is beautifully demonstrated. A great test for engaged couples is how love is communicated. God’s communication is personal and powerful. Calvary is God’s love written in red!

For today: This is a great time to ask,
“How do I show love?” Don’t assume that your family and friends know you love them. Tell them and show them!

“Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this right” (Ephesians 6:1).

There are some things that aren’t very important, like which way the paper towel roll is placed! But there are other things that are absolutely critical. One of those essential things is helping our children to learn obedience. One of the worst things we can ever do is to become permissive. The results are tragic in the homes where permissiveness is the normal.

For today: Make your home a joyful place to be with consistent, reasonable and godly rules. Obedience is a matter of the heart. Pray that the Lord will help you to speak to the heart issues of your child today.

“That in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us through Christ Jesus” (Ephesians 2:7).

Time will be measured in Heaven by the ages. It will take the multitude of rolling ages for us to fully see the dimensions of just how rich, kind and gracious He is toward us through Christ.

For today: If you know Christ, then rejoice throughout your day that the God of all glory is kind to you. Be kind to someone else today.

“Great is Thy faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:23).

How wonderful it is to belong to the Lord. He can be fully trusted, and we can totally rely upon Him. How big is your biggest problem right now? Not to minimize the seriousness of your situation but honestly, you can firmly remember that the Lord is still bigger; He is still greater, and He is fully able to be trusted.

For today: The Lord will never abandon you. His faithfulness is great; it is abundant and enough for you today.

“For whom the LORD loveth He correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth” (Proverbs 3:12).

If you have placed your faith in Christ, you can gladly proclaim, “My Father is perfect!” Because the Lord loves us with a perfect love, He corrects us with perfect correction. He delights in us and never grows weary with our child-training.

For today:
Are you listening to your perfect Father as you read His Word? He understands that we will not be perfect on this side of Heaven. But on the other hand, He wants to conform us to the image of His Son. Think about what you have read from the Word today!
