Most dads do not easily admit to being fearful. Somehow the thinking of most men is that no other man in the church is fearful; therefore, I won’t admit how terrifying it is to be a father. Dads, rest assured that every father has at one time or another experienced the daunting responsibility of fatherhood, resulting in a good healthy amount of fear. This kind of fear drives us to the Lord and causes us to ask Him for wisdom. James 1:5 assures us that the Lord has plenty of wisdom for every one of us.

What a Daunting Responsibility (Father’s Day 2019)
Be Intentional (Father’s Day 2019)
Dads, nothing in this world just happens to come out correctly without following the specific directions. Cars that work don’t just happen. Houses that are constructed correctly don’t just happen. Clothes don’t just happen to become manufactured correctly. Everything happens by intentionally following the directions. Children don’t just happen to become good citizens! Be intentionally involved by lovingly directing them toward the Lord and His Word. “For I have chosen him, so that he will direct his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just” (Genesis 18:19).

“His Prayer the Night Before Calvary!” (Easter 2019)
“I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which Thou hast given me; for they are Thine. And all Mine are Thine, and Thine are mine; and I am glorified in them” (John 17:9-10).
It is the awful hour for the Lord Jesus. Soon He would be going to the cross. From eternity past He had been part of the Triune Godhead Who planned this, but now the hour is here. Jesus prays in awesome intimacy with the Father. He does not pray for the world of unbelievers. He prays for the people that are given to Him by the Father. Listen, we may not understand every detail of this arrangement. We don’t need to. Just stop and embrace this. The night before Jesus went to Calvary, He saw you! He loved you! He prayed for you and called you His. It can’t get any better than this.
