“Hast thou not known? Hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? There is no searching of His understanding” (Isaiah 40:28).
A very young little girl with a very scratched and bleeding knee knows to run to her mother for help. She doesn’t run to her mother asking, “Do you know what to do? Have you treated a knee like this before? What is your experience? What training do you have? Let me see your credentials.” What nonsense that would be, right? Her knee hurts. She doesn’t understand why this had to happen, but she knows that she needs her mother! Mother will know what to do because she is the Mother! This illustration is terribly feeble to describe trusting the Lord in our situations. But think of WHO He is and HOW He is described in our text for today. Such an amazing Lord is fully trustworthy, and that is just what I want to do today. Trust Him.
For today: I understand so little of the things that happen to me. But this I do understand. I belong to the One Who understands everything. That’s a great blessing to me. How about you?
