“He will not fail thee, nor forsake thee” (Deut. 31:6).

Big changes indeed were coming to the nation in the wilderness! For forty years Moses led the children of Israel. Soon he would die, and Joshua would become the leader. Changes are hard to make because we want things to remain constant. It is a hard lesson to learn, but nothing in this world remains constant, except the Lord and His Word. He will never fail nor forsake His people. That never changes!

For today: In all this world of change and decay, He never fails nor forsakes. One word comes to mind. Awesome!

“Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us…” (1 John 3:1).

The Apostle John encourages his readers to cherish the tremendous love of the Lord. He proclaims, “What manner of love the Father has for us.” The word “manner” is potapos and gives the idea of “what sort?” or “what quality?” To what can you compare the love that Jesus Christ has for you? How can you begin to describe it?

For today: If you know the Lord Jesus, be watching for the many ways today that He reminds you of His love!

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Luke 12:34).

A treasure is something that we value because it is extremely special to us or it is of great worth. We treat it with special care. The Lord Jesus links my treasure and my heart to form a very close connection. I am convinced that the Lord Jesus must be my greatest treasure. What an awesome price He paid, When on Himself my sin was laid. Treasure divine, the gift that’s given; From my sins I’ve been forgiven!

For today: Do you know the Lord Jesus? Read Luke 12:16-21 and discover why God called the rich man who ignored Him a fool.

“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Luke 12:34).

The Lord Jesus has been interrupted by a pair of brothers who are fighting over their inheritance. I love how the Lord handles such situations. He seizes the opportunity by turning it into a great teaching time. From arguing about an inheritance to finding real treasure, Jesus challenges the men. The real issue is not the funds of your inheritance; it’s where the treasure of your heart is located.

For today: What do you genuinely treasure in life? What place does the Lord Jesus and eternity have in your heart? More about this tomorrow!

“Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me’” (John 14.6).

In this confusing society of being all-inclusive and politically correct, the Lord Jesus stands out in stark and beautiful contrast. He declares powerfully that if you want to reach the Father and be part of His glories in Heaven, you must come through Him. There are not many roads to Heaven. There is just one road. That is through personally trusting the Lord Jesus to be your Savior.

For today: Can you remember a time when you confessed your sin to the Lord and asked Him to come into your life? Check out John 1:12!
