“For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also” (Luke 12:34).

The Lord Jesus has been interrupted by a pair of brothers who are fighting over their inheritance. I love how the Lord handles such situations. He seizes the opportunity by turning it into a great teaching time. From arguing about an inheritance to finding real treasure, Jesus challenges the men. The real issue is not the funds of your inheritance; it’s where the treasure of your heart is located.

For today: What do you genuinely treasure in life? What place does the Lord Jesus and eternity have in your heart? More about this tomorrow!

“Jesus saith unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me’” (John 14.6).

In this confusing society of being all-inclusive and politically correct, the Lord Jesus stands out in stark and beautiful contrast. He declares powerfully that if you want to reach the Father and be part of His glories in Heaven, you must come through Him. There are not many roads to Heaven. There is just one road. That is through personally trusting the Lord Jesus to be your Savior.

For today: Can you remember a time when you confessed your sin to the Lord and asked Him to come into your life? Check out John 1:12!

“Lord, what wilt Thou have me to do?” (Acts 9:6).

Saul was very adamant about stopping those followers of Christ. Charging madly to Damascus, breathing slaughter as he traveled, suddenly the Lord stopped him. Christ, the risen Lord, confronted Saul right on the road. Saul, soon to become Paul, had a huge change of heart. Rather than angry threats he said, “What do you want me to do, Lord?”

For today: Have you come to the place where you have surrendered all to the Lord Jesus?

“He said unto him, ‘Man, thy sins are forgiven thee’” (Luke 5:20).

Could there possibly be a sweeter message falling on the ears of this dear man? His struggles were plenty. His needs were great. His salvation was wonderfully given to him by the precious Lord Jesus. It can be the same way for you. He can forgive your sins and impart spiritual life, if you will place your faith in Him.

For today: If you are a believer, rejoice in that you belong to a great and forgiving Lord.

“And they spoke unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel…and he read therein” (Nehemiah 8:1, 3).

It is a tremendous privilege to worship the Lord. Be sure you are in a church where the Word of God is preached and taught. Your spiritual leaders, the church family and you need to “bring the Book!”

For today: Invest some quality time today reading God’s Word. Bring it to church tomorrow!
