The Gathering Place Where Family Matters

Karen’s ladies’ conference teaching notes and her Bible study journals are not idols. They mean a lot to me because of my love for her as well as the rich teaching and encouragement that many receive from them being shared. So please don’t think that I am idolizing these. I’m just glad her notes can be a help and encouragement. I regularly receive amazing stories from people around the world who tell me that they’ve smiled at her brevity (no one ever says that about me!) and how her notes have come at just the right time to encourage them.

On a really, really hard day Karen wrote about the word “overwhelmed.” Thank you for stopping by. As always, if you know of folks who need to read her notes, please share this with them.

Typically Karen wrote only a few words in her Bible study journal. What she wrote however was deeply personal and practical. I might add that I find her notes really powerful reminders as well. “Karen’s Notes” for today are typical Karen. Please take a moment to read her entry and you’ll see what I mean.

I smiled when I found this Bible study journal entry. She took notes from my sermon in spite of a pew full of wiggly worm children! Then she added some further thoughts as she reviewed the passage. It deals with being overwhelmed. Thank you for allowing me the privilege of sharing just a tiny portion of her journal.

I honestly didn’t think there would be any more surprises for me to discover about my Karen. But I was wrong. Recently I made the discovery of her prayer lists. I can’t wait to share a tiny portion of what I found.
