The Gathering Place Where Family Matters

Most of the notes in Karen’s Bible study journal are filed neatly, placed in order, carefully thought through and are characterized by her organizational skills. There is, however, a very small piece of paper on which she was doodling. Obviously that day she was reading through Psalm 37. I honestly do not know if she was preparing for a ladies’ retreat or if this was just some thoughts for herself. I’m excited to share with you what she wrote.

Karen had the very strong conviction that she would speak only at ladies’ events. However! As I hold her conference notes and read through them, I’m happy to share with both men and ladies a tiny portion of one paragraph. I hope it will be a blessing to you!

I surely miss her! As I’m writing this edition of “Karen’s Notes,” I have before me one of Karen’s Bibles and her Bible study journal with her own handwritten notes. She had been reading and doing a brief study through the book of James. I am delighted to share the brief notes she wrote one day.

Karen (and I as well) took serving the Lord very seriously. She consistently guarded her heart and sought to be living out the truth that she shared with others. In her Bible study journal, Karen wrote out a few observations about standing for the Lord and serving Him through His strength. I enjoyed seeing her handwritten notes and was also encouraged.
