Thanks for taking a moment to consider something about our “wherevers” and “whatevers!”
Karen’s Notes! Insights from a Glory-Bound Lady” Selected Notes Volume 2 Number 32 “Does Your Soul Follow Hard?” August 7th, 2019
I will never forget one night in our couple’s devotions when it was Karen’s turn to pray. She took my hand and started to cry. Opening my eyes I saw her face in the soft light of our bedroom. “One more, Honey. What would you think?” she asked. Before I could say a word, “We have all of eternity ahead. But surely in all the children that are still available for adoption, there must be a terminally ill child that we can introduce to the Lord Jesus before he or she dies. Honey, just one more, and can we please adopt a terminally ill one?” she softly spoke as tears ran down her cheeks.

I’ve discovered a paragraph that Karen wrote about twenty years ago. I thought it was especially fitting for today.

“The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe” (Proverbs 18:10).
Problems and difficulties come to everyone. Though the hard situations present themselves in many, many ways, there is something true with every difficulty and it is that people will respond in one of two ways. First, some people will not turn to the Lord. They will respond in bitterness. They will try to work out their own solutions. Second, others who know the Lord, love Him and who are walking with Him, will run to the Lord. This gives the idea of investing extra time in His Word and prayer, focusing on Him, and running to Him for His help, comfort, and guidance. I hope that you are not experiencing difficulties today. But if you are, please run to the Lord. He is a Strong Tower that will be a shelter to you and a safe place.
For today: Regardless of the intensity of the situation, run to the Lord and not away from Him.
