Hello Friends,
As you know my website along with many others went down on Sunday morning. Our IT folks are working really hard to get things back up to full operation. We are sending this “Daily Prescription” Supplement in the middle of your day to see how many are receiving it and how the mailing is going. “For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed; for I know Whom I have believed, and am persuaded that He is able to keep that which I have committed unto Him against that day” (2 Timothy 1:12). I pray that you are rejoicing in the Lord today.

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose” (Romans 8:28).

My wife Karen loves to work on-line puzzles. Sometimes she will work and work on them without seeing clearly what the picture is going to be until nearly at the last moment. Then suddenly I hear her typical expression of “Aha! That’s what it is!” I think that sometimes we encounter situations that we do not understand and cannot see what the Lord is doing. His plan is not clear to us and we wonder why things happen the way they do. Rest assured that if you know Christ as your Savior, His precious plan and purpose will work out for your good and His glory.

Sorry friends, I hit the wrong button. I guess you just got the May 11th Daily Prescription ahead of time. Well, I can’t even blame it on the computer. It is the fault of the man pushing the wrong buttons!

“Elijah the prophet came near, and said, LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy Word. Hear me, O LORD, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the Lord God, and that thou has turned their heart back again” (1 Kings 18:36-37).

I surely wish we had an Elijah today. How awesome is the scene before us! The wicked king and all of his officials, along with a huge representation of the nation of Israel, were called to Mt. Carmel by Elijah the prophet. God had captured the attention of the entire nation because He had withheld rain for 3 ½ years. Now Elijah was going to settle the question as to Who would be God in Israel. Would the LORD God or would the Baals be God in Israel? Would the country plunge into wicked idolatry? Or would they acknowledge the LORD God, the true and living God, the only God? Don’t you wish sometimes that the president, all of his officials, and our entire nation could be called together and have Elijah speak to them? Well friends, obviously that is not going to happen right now! That’s why it’s important that you and I carry the message that the true and living God wants to be known and loved by our neighbors. It’s up to us!
