Bushels of Blessings
The Christmas Prayer Letter of
Michael and Karen Peck
December 2014
“For unto you is born this day in the City of Day a Savior which is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11).
To All Our Precious Loved Ones,
Karen and I pray that you and your family will experience many blessings at this very special time of the year. I am more convinced than ever that the real blessing of Christmas is not the size and cost of the gift we give or receive. It is remembering the awesome gift God gave to us in the Person of His precious Son, the Lord Jesus.
In this letter we want to wish you and yours a very Blessed Incarnation Day (my own little personal crusade that I will not only say “Merry Christmas,” I will be as politically incorrect as to identify what I really mean!) We also want to update you on our ministry and to thank you for your gracious, faithful, and very generous support.
Press Fund Update The Lord has blessed the PRESS fund. Of the total goal of $7500 a total so far of $5465 has been achieved. We are deeply grateful. Our professional reimbursement fund as well as the funding needed for the web site ministry has been met. The supplemental support is coming along well and we know the Lord will fully provide our needs. So we say “Thank you” dear supporters! We truly appreciate your prayers and partnership.
Video Production I am really excited to report to our supporters that recently I was professionally recorded filming the “Let’s Talk About” series. These six counseling videos will be available free of charge for anyone. These come available with worksheets that can be downloaded and are especially designed for church planting missionaries, pastors, and Christian counselors. This is a really major undertaking and has been made possible by those contributing to the PRESS fund. I know that many churches can afford to purchase the series (whatever the price would be.) I specialize in those churches, missionaries, and pastors that cannot afford the videos to use in their counseling ministries. Here are the topics: Let’s Talk About
- “The Making of a Great Marriage”
- “What It Means to Love My Spouse?”
- “When a Special Needs Child Comes”
- “Hardship. Why Do I Have So Much Trouble?
- “Getting a Handle On My Anger”
- “Understanding and Overcoming Discouragement”
The Web Site Ministry Beginning this month www.michaelpeck.org is being advertised to over 900 pastors by email and many thousands in the Baptist Bulletin. More and more people are not only visiting the site, but also using the resources. Over 10,600 different visits have taken place. It is such a privilege to come to hundreds of people each morning on “Dr. Mike’s Daily Prescriptions.” You can receive these Daily Prescriptions by signing up on the lower part of my Home page. Recently several folks commented on these Daily Prescriptions by sharing the following with me.
“I don’t know how you do it, but every day I look forward to reading the Scripture verse and reading the brief story that goes along with it. Please accept my thanks and keep those Prescriptions coming.”
“You would have no idea, but I have been going through a terribly difficult time. Your Daily Prescriptions have been a lifesaver to me. I cannot begin to tell you how they have helped. Thank you for coming to me each morning.”
“Every morning in my professional practice I start by looking for my Daily Prescription. I’m so glad that I signed up.”
“I told my entire Sunday School class that they needed to go home and sign up for your Daily Prescriptions. It’s easy to do and I so appreciate hearing from you each day.”
These are a few of the very kind words that have come to me through this ministry. I want to say thank you dear partners for making this ministry possible.
Personal Update Karen has retired from the office of Director of JOY Club Youth Ministries. From the time that she took this appointment, she began to pray for the person that would replace her. What an answer to prayer are Chip and Karen Wood. Chip can travel, speak with pastors, design workshops, preach in churches, display in state conferences, and design websites promoting JOY Club.
It has been a pleasure for her to frequently go into the Baptist Church Planters offices to help the Woods, answers questions, and assist them in making this adjustment in their lives. We both love the Woods and so excited about their ministry.

January, February, and March will be busy preaching months for Michael. I will also be teaching several classes at the Baptist Bible Institute of Cleveland. Evenings are still quite a bit more painful for me. I am going to try teaching just a couple of class nights to see how I do. I don’t want to allow my pain levels to keep me from serving. However, I know I need to wise in this as well. I am excited that the Lord allows me to continue serving. In many ways I am as busy as ever in the Lord’s work while reaching more than I have ever reached before.
To all of our dear family, friends, supporters, and prayer partners, Karen and I want you to know that we love you and pray for God’s very best at this precious time of the year. I will send out one final PRESS fund update later in January. Please remember that God loves you and so do we.
