“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; that in every thing you are enriched by Him” (1 Corinthians 1:3-4).
“Mom,” Wanda said, “you were so right. Thanks for the great encouragement that you gave me last week. I knew all along that I had allowed myself to get so busy that I was no longer enjoying being in the Word each day. I must admit that when you suggested that I set the alarm an extra fifteen minutes earlier, well, my first thoughts weren’t so righteous, I am afraid.” Wanda’s mom quickly spoke and said, “I know. It seems like the days start really early with your responsibilities, don’t they?” There was a brief second or two of silence. Wanda quietly said, “I’m busy. Probably too busy, and I will have to work on that. But getting back into the Word in the morning – how enriched I feel. How the Lord is speaking to me from the Word and reminding me through the day of what I’ve read in the morning! Thanks, Mom.” It was a sweet time between these two. How is the Lord enriching your time in the Word?
For today: Our motto with our children was, “If you don’t have time for the Bible, you don’t have time for breakfast.” We smile at that today; however, it really helped our family get off to the best start possible.
