“Fear not, Mary, for Thou hast found favour with God” (Luke 1:30).
The angel Gabriel had broken into the life of Mary with a message that would change her life forever. We have no idea what Mary was doing when Gabriel came. We are sure of this: he did more than startle her; he frightened her. His message quickly began with “Fear not.” As you listen to the news of what is happening in the world today, isn’t it tremendous to hear the words again, “Fear not?” What’s happening in your life today? How will this play out for you?
For today: Isn’t it significant that the message of the birth of our Savior begins with a “Fear not” to the young teenager Mary? I need this today. How about you?
