“And she shall bring forth a Son, and thou shalt call His name Jesus; for He shall save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1: 21).
“What do you suppose he will be when he grows up?” Mark said thoughtfully to his wife as he held his baby son. “Will you drive Daddy’s tractors and plow and plant with him? Or will you be a young one who wants to be in the books and studying? Will you follow in your grandfather’s ways and be a professor? Maybe a neurosurgeon so that Daddy will never have to work again!” Mark laughed with his dear wife, Amanda. “Seriously, my little Mark, Jr. All that Mommy and Daddy want for you is to know the One Who came to be your Savior. We want you to do whatever the Lord wants for your life,” Mark said with conviction. Those moments were special in the birthing room as Mark and Amanda cherished the thoughts of what the Lord would do with their tiny baby boy. Never was there a baby born like the Lord Jesus. He came not to farm the land, study the books, or to operate in delicate surgeries. He came to save His people from their sins.
For today: Now if this truth doesn’t slow us down, make us think about our Savior and rejoice in His goodness, well, I just don’t know what will!
