“And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Cesar Augustus, that all the world should be taxed. And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David;) to be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child (Luke 2:1, 4-5).
Nothing is too hard for the Lord to resolve. Nothing is too big for Him to overcome. Nothing is too perplexing for Him to understand and comprehend. Mary and Joseph were in Nazareth. Hundreds of years before, Micah had prophesied that Christ would be born in Bethlehem. How would the Lord get the pregnant, soon-to-deliver lady and her husband to travel the many miles to Bethlehem? Not a problem to the Lord! He simply set the whole world in motion and of all things; He used taxation in His great plan. What a blessing it is to know that we belong to the great Lord God. He can do anything! Nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37).
For today: How will this truth play out in your life today?
