I have a verse that is short in words but huge, I mean really huge, in the way that it impacts our lives for all of eternity!
“Thanks be unto God for His unspeakable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
Though I have changed the names, possibly this is happening today in your own life as well. Meg stood in the customer service line at a very large department store in her community. Behind her a lady struck up a conversation. Though they had never met before, Betty Ann spoke with Meg like they were long friends. “Did I ever guess this one wrong,” Betty Ann said. “I figured by now that all the Christmas exchanges would have taken place. Look at that line ahead of us. We don’t seem to be moving very fast. I wonder if anyone got anything for Christmas that they are actually keeping,” Betty Ann asked as she chuckled. “I know what you mean,” Meg answered quietly. “It makes me think of a great gift that never needs exchanging.” It gave her such a wonderful opportunity in that long line to share the good news of God’s greatest Gift as she quoted our verse for today.
Take this little thought with you today: Aren’t you glad for God’s great Gift? Don’t you wish everyone knew about it?
