“And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary His mother, and fell down, and worshipped Him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto Him gifts: gold, and frankincense, and myrrh” (Matthew 2:11).
We’ve been thinking about the wise men over the last few days. One of the great blessings to me is the Biblical principle of giving. As the wise men fell before the young child and Mary His mother, wonderful worship took place. As they worshipped, they opened their treasures and presented unto Him gifts. I have studied the Scriptures for over fifty years and feel like I have just begun to scratch the surface of learning and applying the incredible Word of God. However! Here is something that I learned long ago. Genuine worship involves generous giving. When one truly worships the Lord, a spirit of generosity truly follows. We may not be wealthy like the wise men, but we will be generous with the Lord and others when we truly worship Him. How will this play out in your life today?
For today: Bent knees and opened treasures are still the characteristics of genuine worship.
