“Come ye children, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of the LORD” (Psalm 34:11).
King David was a wise man.
He didn’t live perfectly and certainly made serious sinful mistakes, just like we all have done as well. Nevertheless, he spoke wisely to the people. He wanted them to fear the Lord. The outflow of such fear tends to Godly living (34:12-15), genuine praise and worship (34:1-3), and sincere appreciation for the many times and ways that the Lord delivers and protects His people (34:4-10, 19-22). When you have a few moments, please read through this delightful Psalm and think of how it applies to your own life. I think it will lead you into a deeper fear of the Lord (34:11) and a greater praise on your lips (34:1). May the Lord richly bless you!
For today: How great is our God. I need to fear and praise Him consistently. How about you?
