“Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable” (Psalm 145:3)

To put it mildly, I’ve never been athletically inclined. Not even a little bit! So, having said that, let me be quick to say that I do enjoy watching some sports. I cannot begin to imagine the hard work, practice and training through which they go. I certainly am impressed by the amazing catches, tremendous buzzer beatings, and game winning shots.

What does not impress me frankly is the arrogance of some of the players. I know that pride can show itself in any career and profession. It is very seldom that a great athlete demonstrates humility and grace as he or she stands in the spotlight.

Friends, let’s be reminded that as another weekend of sports is upon us, whether “our team” wins or loses, our God is great. He is worthy of our praise. His greatness is unsearchable. His victory is assured.

For today: I’m so glad to belong to the true and living God. How about you?
