“That you would walk worthy of God, Who has called you unto His kingdom and glory” (1 Thessalonians 2:12).
Marcia was making sure that her children were bundled as they headed out in the yard of their neighbors Henry and Shirley. Her children loved to play with the nieghbor children. Several times Marcia had a great opportunity to invite Shirley and her family to church. So far the neighbors declined, but they seemed interested. Marcia reminded her children, “Now remember, it is important that you act in a way that will please the Lord. You represent Him. As you go out to play, remember to walk worthy.” With that Tim, Shelley, and youngest sister, Sally, headed out to play, but more than that, they would represent the Lord in their neighborhood. Come to think of it, as we stand on the brink of another new year, how important it is to view every day as an opportunity to “walk worthy” of the Lord.
For today: Walking worthy will be a full-time effort for me today. How about you?
