“Fear not; I will help you” (Isaiah 41:13).
Pastor Kenward stood in a room of nearly forty teenagers, and just after he closed in prayer, he had one more word to share with them. “This week will give those who know the Lord a great opportunity to watch this phrase play out in your life,” he shared. Knowing that it was dismissal time and the young people were already starting to pick up their belongings, he called out to them, “Please remember this phrase “Fear not: I will help you” and watch for it. I will see you all next week. The Lord loves you and so do I.” With that the group was dismissed and out they went. Maria remembered the phrase on Tuesday afternoon as she rode in the car with her parents who were taking her to have wisdom teeth removed. Carla remembered it when she found out that the Algebra test would be Friday. Matt remembered it when he learned that Grandpa needed surgery. Rebecca didn’t have anything special going on, but she thought of it and remembered it every day. “I always need your help,” she said to the Lord. “Thanks for helping me not to be afraid.” How about you? How does this verse affect you today?
For today: What a wonderful promise from a wonderful Lord that you and I can embrace.
