“Hear the Word of the LORD, O ye nations, and declare it in the isles afar off, and say, He that scattered Israel will gather him, and keep him, as a shepherd does his flock” (Jeremiah 31:10).
It amazes me how much the Jewish people are hated throughout the world. They are despised, hated, and frankly, there are many people groups that wish them harm. Recently Patty and her mom Barbara sat in the doctor’s office awaiting their appointment. Two people sitting near them were discussing the situation in the Middle East. Of all things, one of the persons actually said to the other, “Well if you ask me, someone ought to kick those Jews out of Israel. Who do they think they are living in a country that’s not even their own. Now with our new president, we’ll never get rid of those Jews. He likes them.” Patty and her mom were shocked, saddened, and then angered at such bigotry and hate. They just couldn’t take it any longer. Patty spoke up and said, “Excuse me. I know that I am not part of your conversation, but I couldn’t help but overhear what you said about the Jewish people. I just want you to know…” I will share with you what she said tomorrow! But for today, rest assured that God’s chosen people are fully entitled to living in their land. I hope that you will love Israel and pray for them often.
For today: I love Israel. What a special place and people indeed.
