“Who being the brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high” (Hebrews 1:3).

Over the last few days we have looked at the phrases describing the awesome power and majesty of our great God and Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. We are considering things that we believe by faith but cannot fully grasp on this side of Heaven. There is coming a day when we will see the Lord Jesus face to face. What an incredible day that will be! One of the amazing things that the Lord Jesus does is that He “upholds all things by the word of His power”! This reminds us that our precious Savior was first of all our precious Creator! The Apostle John explains that Christ created all things (John 1:1-3). The Apostle Paul explains that Christ sustains all things (Colossians 1:17). He holds everything together! Do you ever feel like sometimes you might fall apart? The good news is that He holds everything together, even you! He really does.
