“God’s Wage or God’s Gift?”

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).

Walt and Shirley lived in a modest little home on the south side of the city. The neighbors just to the west of them, Charlie and Karla, sold their home and were going to move across the state because of work transfer. Just a few days before the moving truck was to arrive, Karla was speaking to Walt and Shirley. Let’s listen in for just a moment. “Honestly, I am so thankful that you two never gave up on us. We were rude to you. We rejected your message, and you know that we even ridiculed you. But you never gave up. The Lord used your statement to us, Walt, when you asked if we wanted God’s wage or God’s gift. That really started us thinking and was what the Lord used to bring us to Him. Now we love Him and can’t imagine our lives without Him,” Karla said. Let’s leave this neighborly conversation to bring it back to us. If one chooses the wages of sin, it is eternal separation from Him in the Lake of Fire. If one chooses to accept by faith the gift of God, it is the forgiveness of sin and eternal life with Him. Which of these two statements describes you?

For today: I am so glad to know Him and to belong to Him. How about you? If you are not sure, please click the banner “Heaven!” It will share with you what you must know in order to have a personal relationship with the Lord.
