“He Was Called a Deceiver! We Call Him Lord!”

When the Lord Jesus died, His body was laid in the tomb of Joseph of Arimathaea.  In arrogance the chief priests made request to Pilate to secure His tomb. In doing so, they told Pilate that Jesus was a deceiver (Matthew 27:63), claiming that in three days He would rise again. The foolish plan was to seal the tomb so that no disciple could take His body. How terrible to call Him a deceiver. Pilate agreed to their demands and made the tomb secure. It is hard to imagine such hardness and arrogance. The religious leaders called Him the deceiver. We know that He gloriously arose from the dead. We call Him Lord. He’s alive forevermore.
